An article in a local newspaper "Dnevnik"

The local newspaper "Dnevnik" published an article on the fourth page of its weekly edition about the Pro-Sustain Project, led by researchers from the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, focusing on insects as alternative sources of protein for animal feed. This innovative initiative is testing mealworms grown on organic waste, exploring their potential as an environmentally sustainable and economically viable alternative to traditional proteins such as soy. In addition, the project considers the production of high-quality organic fertilizer from insect excrement, hoping that the results will influence future methods in agricultural production and animal nutrition.

Bioeconomy festival

The Pro-sustain project was presented to the academic community on March 14, 2024, at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, where a conference on bioeconomy was successfully held as part of the European bioeconomy festival "Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival".

Members of the project team at the stand in the hall of the faculty presented the beginning of the implementation of the project by exhibiting live exhibits and promotional content that attracted the attention of visitors. Dr. Saša Krstović, a member of our project team, participated in a panel discussion within this event.

Kick off Project

At the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, a kick-off meeting was held with members of the project team, where a retrospective of the planned activities during the next three years was made. Principal Investigator of the project, Igor Jajić presented the milestones of the project. With this meeting, the implementation of the Pro-Sustain project officially began.

ESM Plan Presentation

A presentation of the ESM plan of the Pro-Sustain project was held at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad. The presentation went well, without any objections, with great interest from the audience and the media. The presentation of the ESM plan was carried out by Principal Investigator of the project, Prof. Ph.D. Igor Jajic. The daily press wrote about this event as well as about the project.
