ADVANCING SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS BY DEVELOPING INSECT-BASED PROTEIN AS NEW FEED OPTION
PRO-SUSTAIN
Started PRO-SUSTAIN project for facilitating Serbian and West Balkan industrial insect production over the coming 3 years. It will enable new market opportunities for insects as animal feed.
Results this project will developed the technology to optimize large-scale insect production, processing, and animal diet inclusion and to test as protein-rich, sustainable, climate-friendly protein sources for feed security.
As part of the Prisma call, the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia financially supports the implementation of this project in the period 2023-2026.
The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, implements the PRO-SUSTAIN project. The human and technical resources of this institution are at a high level of readiness for independent realization and implementation of this project.
Agro Campus is the National Research and Education Center of Innovative Technologies in Agriculture established by the Faculty of Agriculture for the purposes of implementing research, project and practical activities in agriculture.
A research group of professors, assistants and students of the Faculty of Agriculture that links its research activities to insects as alternative sources of protein.
